The ‘Bullock Creek’ kennel was registered in 2017 by Peter O’Neill and Robyn Finlay to introduce quality, imported, high-health English Springer Spaniel bloodlines to the NZ gundog trialing and hunting sports communities.
Peter has been trialing gundogs, including pointers, retrievers, labradors but now exclusively English Springer Spaniels, since the 1980s – initially in Australia then in New Zealand and internationally. In the late 1990s, he enjoyed spectacular success with his ESS GFTCH Duke of Granger (Bill) who amassed 198 championship points in his career – a feat not yet exceeded by any NZ gundog – and was ‘New Zealand Gundog of the Year’ seven times.
Robyn has trialed both labradors and springers with modest success but has primarily been involved in administration in several New Zealand gundog clubs and societies.
